After 7 years of marriage (and only a few days apart), and kids for almost half of that time, it will be pretty lonely being home alone...

Father in law is flying over the Tuesday before and then escorting Mich & girls on their flight to the UK 2 days later.. So that gets over the flying alone bit...

Madness and a waste of money if you ask me, but they insisted he came over! And Mich is a bit happier about it all to, so maybe it is a good thing...

I wouldn't fancy being his body clock on his return to the UK

well if they insisted i guess you just go with it, certainly would have helped us if OH could have flown with someone
that just leaves you on your lonesome for a week, how will you survive?

Watch out in Auckland they make you weigh the buggy with the rest of your luggage - bit of a bummer when you have buggy weights on the front wheels to stop it tipping over

I think its also very hit and miss on whether you get the buggy on the front hold or in main hold. Try putting your arm in a sling to get sympathy

True, but fair play to him for offering to do it...

Sounds great in theory, but I think I will be pretty bored and a bit sad, to be honest

I have just realised that the new security measures either just have, or are about to come into force (limits on liquids etc), so they may be right in saying I have to put the pram in the hold for security reasons...

We took our car seats and used this. The car seats need to be a certain width though to fit.

You can't use your car seats legally in Oz as the standards are different

If you do a search on this site you should find some info and debates re: car seats etc.

Good luck.

p.s I didn't read the rest of the thread.
