Ahh the ones on the natural high
or is that a pound high. The threads cool, nobodies running it down just lightheartedly discussing myths, actually some of them are not myths!
Snakes in the pool, we found a 5 foot snake happily swimming around our pool last summer it was about 6.30 just getting dark, been hot as hell all day got home from work ready to dive in, notice what looks like a stray piece of pool hose and go to grab it when I realise its not straight but moving around like a snake, because it is a bloody snake.
Its not likely to happen every day but it happens alright

I must admit to thinking you guys have a lot of creepy crawlies, I haven't seen a lot here in Perth, not seen a redback yet but I think we had a huntman around (hubby moved it away from the house).

[QUOTE=LarissaBetter not visit Queensland then, you seem to get alot of them up there... or is this a regional misconception of mine?

Perth probably hasnt got that hot yet? and no 27's not hot
that will bring them out, plenty of snakes in wa too, they probably like a swim now and again too. Perths specialty is flies
ours is more crickets, cicadas, toady things, which on reflection I probably prefer

Misconception of Oz by 8 yr old Bethany.....
"Mummy when Aunty Polly moves to Australia will she have a toilet in her tent?"
"What makes you think she'll be living in a tent?"
"Well Miss Thing at school said they have deserts in Australia and I know in deserts they live in tents, so Aunty Polly will have to live in one too, and I was a bit worried in case there wasn't a toilet in the tent........."

A good book to read is "A secret country - By John Pilger" That is the true image of Australia...
