Well hello there Kate and Derek!!!!!!!!! Long time no speak. Exciting news - we bought our ozzie house a couple of weeks ago (Balmoral - Brisbane). We have a long settlement period - settlement date is Sept 9th. So we're off
on Sept 7th and pick up the keys on 9th. Just cannot wait. Our first uk house is off our hands (completed 24/4/05) and we've got a buyer for our other place, though we're not in exchange yet. Surveys have all been done - there are 4 in the chain. Fingers crossed on this one.

How are you both - at what stage are you at.... are you still going Brisbane / Gold Coast way? Or has that Neil guy been having a chat with you about Melbourne????

To Tracey.D ..........lost the plot on this thread a bit. Are we having a south east meet? Did anyone volunteer to organise it? Central London or south east both fine by us. If we arrange Central London what about a few beers (or wine) and a picnic in the park somewhere - Regents, Hyde, anywhere really - We don't mind (with a nice pub close by for contingency purposes when the rain starts ).

What does everybody else think? Any preferred dates (July? August?).

By the way Tracey, whereabouts are you headed in Brisbane?

Me & Indigo are fine in Hong Kong. We have been here for 3 weeks now... started getting used to the heat & humidity. Enjoy the time with my mum & her cooking... lots of fresh seafood! Yummy! We will fly to Melbourne on 8 June to join Neil. He has found a house to rent in Mt Eliza and will move in next Monday. The container has arrived today but it takes 2-3 weeks to clear the Customs... so we will need to get some basic survival kits to live in the empty house.

Fraser, Mt Eliza is a beautiful place when I was there 2 yrs ago... I trust Neil has made the right decision for the area & the house. Not too worry about the commuting to CBD... we will try to buy in 6 months time when we both have secured the jobs. I will ask Neil to comment on Mt Eliza if he is online later.

Hey, Hong Kong is a marvellous place to stopover... don't go there just because of the fake designer stuff... you can find them in some of the street markets! August is the hottest month and occasionally the typhoon likes to make a visit too! But don't worry about the typhoon, it comes & goes very quickly. Try the HK tourist board website:

Hi Pat,

Nice to hear from you - all seems to be going smoothly for you. That's great news. I absolutely love Hong Kong. Its one of my favorite cities but we haven't been there now for at least 6 years. I'm sure we'll be headed back there one day. If anyone's doing a stopover I'd seriously recommend it. And forget the fake designer stuff - you can get the real McCoy in the hugely discounted factory outlets. I'm not really a clothes shopaholic but I couldn't resist it when we were in Hong Kong. Mind you some of those back street places were a little hard to find at first!

Keep in touch once you get to Melbourne. Its always nice to hear from you.
