Your bang on the money Bundy. I never saw the point of the 13 man game until I came to Australia then I saw the light. It is a game with no let up. Tackle after tackle every one gets a go, not just the forwards. Must be one of the toughest sports out there.

I only went and corked my knee a few weeks ago though!! Limping around for a week afterwards.

My team are in the First Division here in Melbourne and its great. Apart from my knee and the new job couldn't have come at a worse time!

Rugby league - a man's game in my view. Faster, more action, more injuries, more tackles...Got to love it! State of Origin - nearly burst something I got so excited. ALways that vague possibility of a fight...

A touch of Aussie myopia or selective memory loss? The Sunday Times pages 4-5, big headline:

"Classy French Spoil Bold England Revival" - Sweet slam for Les Bleus

- certainly read as a balanced article to me.

Unlike the so-called quality Aussie newspapers attempting to belittle their English opponents - before and after the Rugby Union final - with comments like "Is that all you've got." Oh, and don't forget the Aussies complaining about the rain.

Aussie players? What a bunch of girlies!! [/QUOTE]

There was a lot of gabbing on about how great the Rugby Union team were before the Six Nations and how they were still a truly unbeatable side.

Once it was over and England came in a disappointing 3rd place a bunch of excuses were made.

Like I said, no arguments from me about how the Australian media cover sporting news, but I don't think the UK media is that different!

As an aside, when in Rugby League Australia beat England in the World Cup this year here in the UK, as an Australian living in England I was not all that impressed with the coverage given to it (or lack thereof).

You have to cling to whatever you can! Especially as an Aussie living in these parts! Mr Ekno got the same!

Which is probably why Mr Bundy rates Wigan as the friendliest place on earth. True though, no league down here.

We went up to Wigan for the final of the Kangaroo tour a couple of years back and it was bloody brilliant!

In Australia Rugby league is mainly played in NSW and QLD. AFL mainly in SA, VIC and WA. The locals cannot even decide what code is football.

I just find League boring, stop start and please why girls with pom poms. The Aussie commentary is also off putting and makes big ron sound like he knows what he is on about.

I drove past Aussie stadium after the troubles the other night and the crowd felt funny. There were police everywhere. I only found out why the next day. Bloody doggies.
