Basically the cost would be huge not only loss of earnings being self employed running small business would also lose work whilst being away!
This potentially could be losing up to 2 months wages!!
Then the flights accomodation and everything else really looking at around £15,0000 +, :scared:.
Which really could be put aside for returning if we hated it!!
I just answererd me own question I think!
Anyway just really wondered how many others were jumping in blind!!
Cheers

Only you know what your likes/dislikes/priorities are so it is difficult to give advice on some of these things.. So I'd say definitely visit, yet also think about what season you are going to visit in.
Case in point is my brother who originally emigrated to Perth (having been there in the summer-ish season) then when he actually emigrated it was winter. After two weeks he found it not lively enough for his needs so he flew over to Sydney and realised that was the place for him and has been there ever since.
A slightly shortened version of the story, however hopefully it helps!
take care and good luck

obviously we are all different people/families and lead different lives and have differnt opinions and outlooks on life. we are not the sanest or the most sensible by far but every crazy decision we have made has always been the right one. this is obviously the biggest risk to date but ive got no worries with what we are doing. i just hope i dont live to regret that statement!!

We were thinking a couple years ago to go and live in Ontario/Canada.
Hubbys mom is Canadian and he has a sister und aunt living there.
Luckily we went over for a visit, we loved all the nature, lakes and houses but we didn't like the People/attitude...I'm glad we did, because we both wouldn't have liked to go and live over there...

Me and my wife aged 39 and 40 and two kids 3 and 5 have never been before but as soon as we get our visa's and complete on our house sale hopefully within 8 weeks are just going over .We want a better life for all of us and Australia sounds GREAT in many respects,We are positive in things in our lives and that seems to work out for the best so far,If you don't try things you'll never find out what you missed. The worst way is you end up back in England.I am a self employed Plasterer and we hope to go to the Brisbane-Sunshine Coast area so anybody looking for a good, honest, hard working plasterer then contact me on here until I get a contact number in Oz,Regards Cooperman and family...
