And Ian Thorpe.

Breaking News!
The Crown Prince of Bahrain has just pulled out saying he is still suffering from a groin strain but should be available for Harry's Nazi-themed do.

The Palace (no, not Crystal) bans the ABC using The Chaser team as alternative commentators:

However funny you think The Chaser are (my opinion is Not Very) it is yet another reason not to watch 2 irrelevant doomed twits get hitched.

Bad news on the Vim homefront, the original plan for the OH and kid to watch it at the MILs has fallen through ... Going to try for Broncos tickets ...

The best place for me on Friday is not within the confines of this house, it's not very big and I'll still be able to hear the whole ghastly thing as I move from the safety of the spare room to the fridge.

Hold on, we have a bar fridge ...

I might have been tempted to watch it if they were commentating. They have their moments and when they do they can be very funny.

It would certainly improve it but not enough for me ... the others already have Broncos tickets so that's out, I might drive down to the coast and catch some sea air and atmospheric nighttime surf.

I'm serious, if you see me posting here Friday night (a telltale sign I have succumbed to the path of least resistance) I would like my account deleted

I have my suspicions that people who are in the YooKay (copyright Hutch) about now are really there to lap up the wedding buzz and not to see family or get a pork pie from the food hall of their choice...no names.

I love the comments in the Australian and UK press from people who are against it. You can spot the chip from outer space..nothing but a bit of fun in my books. The fact of the matter is that the Royal Family brings a bit of colour to many people's lives and it's a good thing for the UK right now. The Royals can sell! And that applies to Australia too.

We are having a little fancy dress party too. I might even get out my old blues...I feel sorry for Wills having to wear RAF blue - with a tie - the service equivalent of Tesco when Harry will be wearing his superior Army blues. But hey ho.

Thorpe is swimming royalty. It's a play on words - and even a serious network might pull that one - with their tongue in their cheek, naturally.

What a generalisation! You can bin your suspicions as far as I'm concerned
I actually ended up being here this week by pure coincidence - had booked the flights before the wedding date was set. As far as I've seen its no different to most royal occasions, some of us are interested, other aren't. My niece's school is having a party tomorrow - think she is more interested in the food than the wedding then the family are watching it on tv on Friday - which is kind of a family tradition. Again she is more interested in whether her mum remembered to buy her some cheese balls
I'll be in London, not sure what I'm doing yet, if I'm on my own I'll probably find a pub to watch it in, can't be doing with fighting the crowds. Rather nice to be here now, purely for sentimental reasons, but I wouldn't have booked it specially. Booking a flight to get a pork ie however,....now that appeals

Mind you I have convinced three people at work that I am here to attend the wedding, which I think is really funny.....told them I had advance knowledge of the date from the Royal Family, so I booked my holiday to suit it

Flown back to London last week for the Royal Wedding! Hoping to see it live - yes I'm very patriotic!

Interesting to see how my friends in back here in the UK are doing! Has anyone else flown back to catch the RW?

I am not a royalist at all - I think the majority of them are useless spongers.

However, William and Kate appear to be a decent couple so good luck to them, I say.

The kids wanted me to organise a street party but as I work full time there was no way that was happening!
I compromised and have organised a garden party with flags and bunting and it seems to have grown from a guest list of 10 to a guest list of 20 I'm looking forward to it though.

Here in the UK we have had an absolutely fantastic spring and easter. It's been 23 degrees and sunny for the past 2 weeks, absolutely glorious. In typical UK fashion though, with the eyes of the world on us on Friday, it's forecast to rain

Oh, and yay! to double bank holidays

A post not that long ago made me realise how untrue that is for Aus. I've always stated that the UK would probably fair no differently with or without the royals. Look to France the most visited country in the world and you see that the absence of a royal family has done them no harm. With Aus I think it does harm. When the Queen is abroad she promotes the UK not Aus. We do not have a similar head of state ambassador. The GG, a viceroy, does not carry the same gravitas as a monarch or president.
