Refused
Got a phone call this morning from our agent to tell me that my TRA application has been refused. My whole world collapsed right there and then. I have been working at two jobs for the past year specifically for the visa, my 'normal' job is train driver but i have been cooking on virtually every day off so that i can qualify for the visa, now it seems that might have been a total waste of my time and effort. The agent says that we can appeal and he will speak directly to TRA immediately and get back to me by tomorrow morning but that doest stop me feeling like i have been repeatedly kicked in the stomach, I am just in a daze at the moment i dont know what to think or say. Where the hell do i go from here? is this a sign for us to just forget it or what? god i just dont know what to do.

Re: Refused

Nev. Sorry to hear this Nev; can imagine you must feel pretty distraught. Did they give a reason for the refusal or is it simply through lack of points? Hope the appeal proves successful; how long does that process take? Keep positive and I have fingers crossed for you. Hope all your efforts will soon be rewarded. Ros |

Nev. What an awful shock for you, I have no idea where you go from here, just wanted to say keep your self positive and see what others may advise. I will watch your post for any good news mate. Sending you karma as I type. Eric the viking |

Nev. At the time them saying no made us jump higher etc. Don't give up if it is more than a whim. \Mumo |

Nev. Oh shit Nev. Dont give up on your dream. Appeal and see what happens. Did they give a reason for refusing it? All the best. Joex |
Re: Refused
Sorry to hear that.
Don't give up though and send in that appeal. |

Were just getting ready to send ours off just some certifying to do then its off :) Fingers crossed for you, it might just be that you didnt supply enough info Tracey |
Re: Refused
Sorry to hear your news, having gone through so many ups & downs with our visa i do sympathise with how your feeling.
But dont let it beat you, look back at the many success stories of failed TRA applications on here, how they appealled & won, it may help you to think positively again. Also your agent would not go to the lengths he is going to if he didnt honestly think you didnt have a chance of getting your TRA. Best of luck & keep your chin up x Donna. |
Re: Refused
Yup try and stay positive, loads of people have to do it more than once and then get through, they just want even more info whether you think that's possible or not
Good luck and make sure your agent gives you the right information about what TRA said and what to do  |
Re: Refused
Nev I'm gutted for you.
Get that appeal in and if they still say no, get more stuff together and apply again. You can do it, I know you can |
Re: Refused
I realy feel for you mate - I have gone through the gut wrenching of if? will? what if? Stick with it I am sure all will turn out well in the end

Nev. Good luck with it Lynne |
Re: Refused
ah dont worry mate, we failed first time also
just jump right back on that horse and do the whole again appeal is a waste of time if you ask me as you cant submit more info (unless of course its a mistake on their part, but they wouldnt admit anyway!!) simply get as much as you can re information together even the simple stuff and the same stuff you would use as if appealing - pay the price again and try again second time lucky hey!! good luck vb2 |
Re: Refused
As others have said - try and stay positive. Get as much info as you can about why they have come to that decision and then you will be able to appeal, or reapply. Don't give up - you've worked so hard for your dream and you'll get there. All the best.

Re: Refused
Gutted for you mate...chin up :)

Re: Refused
Gee that is rubbish!
Hope you can get a successful appeal.

Re: Refused
Hi Nev
Dont give up. There is always a way, Really sorry to hear your news. But I would not take it as a sign. When we started on the roller coaster we were told by a migration agent (a so called expert) that we could not get in. As it happens I did the whole thing myself and...well....the rest they say is history. I really feel for you mate, but keep going. All the best. G n T

Re: Refused
Thank you all for you messages of support and encouragement, it does help. I will be appealing because this is not a whim, this is for real, we all want this my ten year old included so much that it hurts, i suppose thats why it was such a shock to get the call this morning, i suppose i always knew there was a possibilty of refusal but it doesnt make it any easier. I will kepp you informed of further outcome.
Thanks again. Nev. |
Re: Refused
I am so sorry to hear you have been refused your TRA results and you must be feeling like the bottom has fallen out of your world at the moment :(
But you know what mate, this is just one hurdle amongst many that are going to be testing your resolve. Half of the battle re emigrating, is having the balls to get through each and every obstacle that's put in your place. Jeez.....if you ask people how the emigrating process went for them I bet the majority will tell you they felt like they'd run the grand national with three legs broken:( As everyone has said so far, don't give up or give in. You haven't exhausted the process yet mate and if you're really serious about this...then bloody fight it all the way cos it'll be all the more sweeter for having fought for it! Good luck and all the best ;) |
Re: Refused
Shit mate ..just what you don't want to hear!! All I can say is put your appeal in and find out what more they want from you.Stay possitive and get the TRA stuff out again and add more detail. Dont give up yet mate ..your not the first person to fail the TRA first time, I know its all a pain in the arse but its got to be worth it in the long run.
|
Re: Refused
Lots of good advice from people in here :) Just wanted to say 'Keep positive and appeal' If you make the points then surely you can re-word something in your application and re-submit.
Good Luck! :) |
Re: Refused
Sorry to hear that Nev....
Have a few days to get your head straight...and then get that appeal in. Don't give up. Don't know if you have done this - but might be worth putting this in the Aus Immigration forum ...couple of agents reguarly go in there, and have been very helpful to people. |

Really feel for you and your family, Nev. Ditto to all the above - this is not the end of the road by a long stretch, so don't even think about giving up and get that appeal in. Nicky |

Nev. Then the points went up , so we could not go to Perth, then got sponsor in Perth but they lost a big contract so that fell through. BUT we never gave up. We rang round gas/plumbing firms in WA south west and got a sponsor. We had to come regional for 2 years, but we love it here, some things are meant to be. Could you get a sponsor. NEVER give up you will get here. Good luck! Denise |
Re: Refused
Keep your chin up, and go for the appeal.Best of Luck xxx

I know its not the end of the world but it was like a kick in the guts this morning after all the work i have been doing and the effort we have put in as a family, im sure it will be fine i just need a bit of a boost thats all. Many thanks. Nev. |

Re: Refused
Nev I've already answered the post in the immi forum but just wanted to say again how sorry I am for you. Give yourself a few days then get back on the bandwagon.
I think Denise was referring to being sponsored by a Company - I think that way you don't have to do a skills assessment at all (I'm not 100% sure on this but think that's right). |

Re: Refused
Hi Nev,
Glad to hear your not giving up. I'm almost resigning myself that I'll fail on the medical ( previous health history ) but I wont be giving up there. I'll just try for another visa subclass or something. I don't see how anyone can give up once you've applied as it all takes so much organisation, cash and committment - it's not as if it's just a passing phase. Let us know what happens and remember there's other ways of getting in whether it be other visa subclasses or waiting a bit longer! ( although that one is particularly tricky, it's one I myself may have to consider ) *pearly* |

Nev. I've also been refused by TRA in first take cause TRA phoned at my workplace for verification and someone from my workplace passed wrong information  and my application was refused then i sent application again with evidence (on which they refused in first take) and they cleared my application in second take. So ask your agent on which basis they reject your application. Thnx SONU |
