PS3 or WII

I love the sports as well. I think boxing is lots of fun, and of course tennis is pretty good too. I just like that it's more interactive than just sitting on the couch and tapping buttons. You can stand up and box or play tennis. Even on Mario Party you're twisting, turning and twirling the remote around to play the games.
In terms of compatability I know the people at the stores said it could play UK games because they were also PAL. I was more concerned with games from Canada though and unfortunately those ones aren't compatible. UK was no problem though.

From: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Thats down and to the right from UK.

As mentioned you might want to consider the Xbox 360 - the Australian and UK version is the same so you can use UK games on an Australian machine.
However, the real winner is buying UK games second-hand from Amazon.co.uk for a tenner a game and getting someone in the UK for forward to you - you'll save a fortune over the paying full price.

The choice between the two depends on a few things in my opion,
PS3 is a better graphics based gaming console but dearer to buy!
Wii is a more fun based gaming console which I would say more of the family and freinds can play, Also you are actuall doing something so its the healthy option if you can have one? The graphics are not as good but you don't notice as much. Also it's a hell of a lot cheaper to buy and there is stock of Wii's in Australia.
Just a tip if you want to buy extra controllers its cheaper to buy one packaged with a game at a place like EB and then trade the game in if you allready have it!!!!
Regards

It's great fun. The controller is actually guitar shaped and when a song is played on screen, they also show you which "notes" to play on the guitar. My OH and some of his friends (who all have guitars) spent a fair bit of time playing it a couple of weeks ago and they all agreed it was fantastic. It looked pretty difficult mind you, but if you're into rock music and guitars then it's a must
