Payment can be made in some circumstances if you leave Australia temporarily, but none if you leave permanantly.
You need to contact centrelink to discuss your individual circumstances

Took the words out of my mouth
Scenario leading on further then.........if said baby is born overseas to parents who were deported for running up a credit card bill to pay for flight tickets, would baby then be entitled to the baby bonus? That should keep you busy for a while, Wendy

erm, Ok here's what I found out.
Yes, but only if said person stands on their heads while humming the tune to Waltzing Matilda. Oh, they also have to dress up like Guy Pierce in the film Priscilla and shave their head (both of them)

I therefore cannot see how the child in your question can be classed as "an Australian Citizen by descent". The child should then technically become a citizen of the country in which they are born, and therefore technically be eligible for the bonus. If the child was born here, there would be no problem, but this sounds like a scam, but then again the OP has been known to be abit of a windup merchant in the past.
