I guess my original statement is ambiguous.

What I meant is that a British company/corporation (BBC Worldwide) has recently become the major shareholder. Not that the BBC has recently become British.

I think the AUD Cinderella run is over, for now. It's taking quite a pounding at the moment as the "risk on" trade comes off so it's more a case of the Aussie weakening rather than the pound strengthening.

The Aussie dollar was never meant to be on a permanent high as soon as the price of commodities takes a hit so will the dollar.

You're right. Remember how painful the 1.79 thread got? And before that the 1.98

Just realised that since things have moved on somewhat maybe its time to begin a new thread: £1 = $1.54
