Why skip PB's posts - you will learn more from his posts than the happy happy posts. He's not gonna flame you - look at the whole picture - it's all good information. You'll be looking back in a few years thinking 'why didn't anyone tell us this before we came'.
Good luck to you - I'm sure everything will be OK - but at least you know a fuller story by reading everything on here. It will be a sad day when PB's gone - just look at the encouragement he's given new immigrants - he's going back - your going somewhere else. Everyone to their own - this forum is priceless for the information PB and others give have given. Just because you don't like what you hear does not mean it's not useful information.

I dont think that there is much to be learnt from PB'S posts , I think we are all grown up enough to realise that the grass isnt going to be greener on the other side and crime, unemployment, drug abuse etc are world wide problems. How can all the bad news from his local paper and personal attacks to people be of any use ?

hello,
we (husband and 2 daughters) are hoping to get to perth the back end of this year. Not quite sure why Perth, I've wanted to go to Australia since I qualified as a nurse 10 years ago and it was always Perth then, never really considered anywhere else. Had a bit of practice moving to strange places as i came over to Lancashire from Yorkshire - family have just about forgiven me for that one and I drop Australia on their laps.

Me and my family (husband, son and daughter) are awaiting
our visa's for immigration to Oz. My husband is very keen on Perth but i have family in Adelaide I am not sure yet of which is best. I am also a RGN I would be grateful if you could send me information on how you are settling (as post) when you arrive as we are still waiting.

The recent New South Wales Childhood Obesity Summit has brought to light the urgent need to reverse trends in obesity in children, one of the fastest growing health disorders in our modern society.
Access to junk food, peer pressure, poor family role models, lack of encouragement to do physical activity and fast food advertising were just some of the factors identified at the Summit as contributing to the childhood obesity epidemic.
Persuasive food advertising, for example, is reaching children as young as 18 months.
Mother, Kerry Turner, told the Summit during question time that when she was teaching her 18-month-old son to count, she could not understand why he kept saying 'one, two, chippies.' Then she realised that when rotated the number '3' resembled McDonald’s golden arches.
Obesity among young people in Australia has doubled in the past 15 years. There are fears that if something is not done soon, the numbers could rise to half our children being overweight within the next decade

Going to Perth this month to look at the region for future retirement plans – would appreciate any advice on areas to look at out with the city - positive only - we do not want to upset anyone by posting negative comments on areas which they reside....Thanks

We are going to the Margaret River area during our visit and I’m sure that it is going to be very nice, but too far from the city for final resting place; we do not want to be in the “sticks - Mandurah and Joondalup look interesting – sailing, golfing all come into the equation.
Many thanks for your reply….
