Hi Lucy
Really sorry to hear your news. Just logged on after several days off line or would have said so sooner. Thanks again for all the support you have shown me -those pms meant a lot. Hope you find happiness when you get to wherever you are going. I know that we have never been happier since getting here...we so far. love it, our son thinks the beach is great and keeps 'pulling' girlfriends everywhere he goes, the only problem we have is that our cats although happy most of the time, seem to find the heat a bit much!
Really hope you find your dream destination and happiness...don't forget if you ever visit Adelaide that there is wine chilled and waiting!!

So, we have the option of trying for Vancouver now (which I have to say is kinda exciting as Im a bit of a ski bum and my best friend lives in San Fran.
) We are not yet ready to consign Oz to the bins but at least we feel we are not going to have to resign ourselves to dying in the UK!
Oh and I spoke to my migration agents today and HOPEFULLY we should at least get 50% of our fee refunded plus our fee to DIMIA so at least £1500 winging its way!
Thanks so much for all of your support so far...it means a lot!!!!

Why can't you get around the fact that you'll be refused time and time again - read what the mod said! - he knows what he's talking about! - stop dreaming and resign yourself to the fact that you'll be in Blighty for a long long time to come.........
And another thing, ignore the swan! Oz is where you wanna be and you know it - that's why you're still on ...wait for it....the Oz forum.! I believe there is a Canadian forum? No offence but it's time for you to move on! I appreciate that it's going to be difficult for you but it's time to go.
Cheers for your posts - I guess what goes around comes around - as my grandma used to say!
As I say, hope you get into Canada, and if not, there's always Iceland? It's a tad cold but I'm sure you'll fit in fine.
Plan B? Lucy B. What will plan C be?

It must be wonderful to be so perfect and to feel justified in being obnoxious.

OK I'm a straight talker and sometimes that hurts but sometimes peole need this. I don't mean to be offensive but sometimes a reality check is what is needed and often friends cannot do this.
Sorry Lucy - wish you all the best

Don't mean to offend anyone here but the mod is right.

Widening your horizons to incorporate a plan b does not mean you were not committed to the plan a in the first place.
If the reality of the situation is (as explained by lucy herself) that getting in to Oz is very remote, then what's wrong with exploring alternatives?
Not everybody gets what they want first time.
Good on you lucy but don't give up on Oz.

Cruel to be kind is fine......I take it you don't know Lucyb. I find it incredible you can be so harsh and insulting to someone you don't even know. We are all dreamers otherwise we wouldn't be dreaming of different lives and locations.
Shooting someone down for trying to turn a situation around is just being up your own rectum. Politely suggesting someone tries to see things your way is fine..........but the way you come across is disturbing.

Again I must reiterate that cruel to be kind may be the best way here.

Even a feeble attempt at an apology is condescending.
You've made your point.
