I am on a right old downer at the moment! My 17 year old daughter moved to her grandparents this weekend in preparation for the move. We thought this was a good idea so we could both get used to it (she is coming back to the uk once vailidating her visa).
Well, it has really made me feel sad. I know she is nearly 18 but it is the first time she has not lived with me and its going to take some getting used to. At this moment in time i wonder if it is all worth it. Hubbie and son are still well up for it but I seem to have lost steam. I hope that I can bring back the excitement but at the moment, no.
Lets hope it gets better.

I've got a similar problem although it's my son so I guess this is slightly different from letting go of a daughter
I know my boy is also intending on coming back cos he has a girlfirend who he's been going out with for 2 years.
As upset as I am about it all.......I've realised we can't live our lives through our kids and vice versa. We've got to learn to let go but at same time let them know where we are if they need us
Cheer up my friend. You need to talk things through with your daughter and share your concerns with her. I'm sure she is as concerned and apprehensive as you are .....so you maybe just need to manage each others expectations and get things out in the open.
I'm sure she will want whats best for her mum.....and her mum will want what's best for her
Chin up.....and onwards and upwards
