Next is crap - why do people feel they have to dress their kids 'trendy'? are the kids really bothered about what they wear? ...were they ever bothered about what they wore or was it the materialistic parent that fed them this crap that made them believe they must look a certain way?

I used to have kids come into nursery wearing their 'best next' clothes and the parents would then moan if the child got a mark on them from playing and learning it makes me cringe!!

To go to the other side of the world and still feel withdrawals for 'trendy' kids clothes (or adults clothes for that matter) is wrong in my eyes!

Kids are kids!! - individuals!! not fashion accessories!!

and yes, i have been to aus before and when i was there, there were plently of nice enough clothes for kids and adults.

Threads like this start the scaremongerers off, from the UK. They start to believe they will never be able to buy decent clothes again.

I even heard one comment from someone saying 'they only go up to a ladies size 14'...i mean, what do all the larger aussie ladies wear

Each to their own but it's a load of crap imo!
spoken by someone who isn't even living here yet. Wait until you have to shop for yourself and kids year round and you will find out quite quickly that the quality of clothing (unless you spend a stack) is pretty poor. Nothing wrong with hankering for stuff from back home, I regularly send parcels of cherry ripes and twisties to my friend in Peterborough.

Wow - another Next thread and so soon...lol

Next = quality....nope. Next = uniformity. You can see every bugger and thier friend wearing Next a mile off. You can tell poms getting off the plane wearing Next from head to foot a mile away.

We had friends staying with us and we had to giggle as they must have bought everything from Next. We were going to have a sweapstake on how many number and flag patches were sewn on the combined wardrobe.

Dont get hung up on a single brand which we dont have here. There are heaps of decent clothes shops and a lot you wont ever find in the UK. But as a previous poster pointed out the suns going to destroy them anyhow over time and nobody gives a crap what you look like anyway. At least you wont be looking like everyone else.....

So an internet search. There are 527 entries under kids clothes shops in Perth. I reckon that has to offer perhaps some variety despite the fact it is Perth

I'm still buying my girls BNWT Next, Gap, Monsoon and M&S clothes from Ebay in the Uk. But only ever buy from the sellers, who charge a couple of quid for P&P.

As some really do take the P*** over their shipping costs.
