Difference between the 2 percentages is about 1 million people. Hardly the same is it? 1 million more people looking for jobs makes getting one slightly more difficult. But what do I know, I'm living here, (was) looking for work, going the job centre, watching the news every day, but I guess you lot know better.
You're right. Its not the same. It means that there are still more people working in the UK than the entire population of Australia.

Lets be honest here, all joking aside if someone prefers to think that the UK is going down the drain and that life here will be better for them it's fine. I live here and was bought up here and know the country very well, I see that there is an unemployment issue, a poverty issue, housing affordability problems, rising prices blah blah blah. I really could happily live in either country but we have decided to live in England and have been offered a great career opportunity which is a major bonus.
Each to their own.

What's that got to do with Australia?

Your list also shows just where the economic power still stands

A piece of apple is different from a piece of pineapple.

Hi

I might have offended a few which was not the point at all. The only point was that us English people make a move to countries where we look at the bad points of the UK , and easily fall into this vision of making a better life for kids, family and give it our best.

We have family in the UK but they were all from St ives so did not really see them as much. Majority of all English who return to the UK kept talking about families which we thought would not be a returning factor.

Salaries are great down here , and no offense to the " Aussie Way " at all, but for us it has thrown us back a lot thats all. We did not live in doncaster and we used to live in somerset. UK has their HUGE share of problems and maybe Australia does not , but i think for culture, respect for immigrants, upbringing lifestyle, history, education, it is a lot of years behind.

When we all permanently shift back we still be back here for holidays as its brilliant , but not for living. We live around half an hour from sydney for those who are continously asking!

The uk has lost the bloody plot now with PC rubbish, I for one will be glad to leave it behind.
According to the news today flying an Aussie flag may make you racist!

Seems like Australia has 'lost the plot' (if you believe the tabloid news).
