I would never have guessed.

I always thought you banged on about the positives all the time for altruistic reasons

1 in 4 return, and don't forget that doesn't include the ones that stay but are very unhappy. Many are here and can't leave for a lot of reasons, you could say they are 'trapped'

When will you get round to proving those figures, or are you trying to change the subject

I don't blame you... trying to spin figures and then getting caught

My reason for being positive is because I like it here, and like to show the alternatives to some of the negatives that are thrown around. Much to the dislike of those who would rather everything looked black and one sided.

It also doesn't include all those who have tried it here on 457's etc, but are unable to stay for various reasons, now "trapped" in the UK.

Also many of my posts have helped those who have already arrived, to see that nothing is black and white.

They all said they wouldn't ever go back to the UK, but the more we spoke to them, all of them followed the same line of still talking of Australia as 'them' and constantly complained about how the 'Aussies' can't get anything right.
It leaves me hoping I'm not like that in another 30 years.

I'd also wonder how many people would like to go 'home' but can't because of their pride, or the fact their children are settled here.

Funny, when we arrived we met various '£10 POMs' who'd obviously been here for 30 odd years and couldn't wait to tell us all we 'needed to know'.

Its easy to point and laugh at 'ten pound poms' but they had the same starry eyed hopes that you once had except without most of the luxuries we have now. If you meet more than a few with advice to give it might pay to actually listen to them.
