Slightly offtopic, but there is a house down the road from us that has a swimming pool the size of a shoebox :scared: , I kid you not, it is SUCH a small pool that when they were putting it in I was convinced it was a garden pond , would fit in your garden there no problems, the funny thing is that you would understand it if they lived on a block like yours, but this is on a 2.5 acre block :scared: , never can work that one out .
Simple

They ran out of money
They mis typed cm instead of inches

We are looking to put in a pool 6 by 4 metres - hopefully thats enough to keep the kids and wife happy. Will need jets to swim against.

6X4M is small, but it's a pool & the kids will get lots of enjoyment out of it. This one, I kid you not, is tiny, its a plunge pool only, not more than about 2-3 metres long & a metre or 2 wide :scared: . Fine if you are a grown up, just like sitting in a spa or something, but completely useless if you had any kids - black mark against it if they ever want to sell it .

Plus it's in the front yard, so every man & his dog that drives past can see you in the pool :scared: .

It is an error of judgement(!)

I'd be happy with a 6x4 - ours is bigger than I realised 9x5.

given the block sizes of these new developments are so small, why is it that the prices are so expensive?

were these the same houses that only 5-6 years ago were selling for only $180k? i can understand the small size given that the developer was only originally selling each for 180k, but am i correct in hearing that these same houses are now going for $280-$390k?

thanks!

Because you can sell any old crap if you advertise it correctly

Got any pictures?

I am trying to conceptualise 6x4 or even 9x5. I dont want it too big but not too small that the kids cant dive from one end.

Hi. We've got a 7 x 4 metre pool, and we find it is plenty big enough. I'll attempt to attach a piccy. hope it works!

Ours is 12 x 4 or 4.5, Im just looking out the window at it imagining it in half, there would be plenty of room to float around & you could dive in, but you would definitely come up at the other end beforeyou even started swimming .

Can go out to 17 metres but the width is restricted to 4 metres (otherwise I get a smaller deck - and we cant have that )

That looks great and just about the right size. Just something to jump in after a long day at the beach (or cricket).

PS Where do you live - and do you leave the gate open

Anyone suffering from the power cut?

We are fortunate that we never lost power and if we did this solid victorian is nice and cool (well at least for another 2 days).

Well I stopped to get some pics today, NOT so easy when you have to get out of the car & wander along the front of the house for all to see , but I got a couple, hope you can see how small it is from them. Also not helped by the fact that there are 2 fences & some shrubs that have grown between the footpath & the road now.

The first one you can see the end of the pool clearly & on the right hand side of the pics you can see the deck chairs they have there (one has the back tilted forward, the other one has it tilted back). I have left the deck chairs in as a comparison of size - as you can see the width of the pool is probably less than the length of 2 deck chairs (bearing in mind the angle, its probably not much more than 1 really). In the second pic you can see the length of the pool - around about twice the width. Cant see any carp though .
