This is a link for a review of the laptop I have purchased! All seems very positive and good value for money.

So much bad stuff about Dell - as soon as you start searching for reviews of Dells many are truely awful - my encounter with their Indian call centre was the decider - there would not of been a hope in hells chance of the correct spec of comp turning up if you ordered over the phone. Also price wise you get a lot less for you money with Dell (you pay for a name)and their worldwide warranty is a bit of an urban legend me thinks as none of the small print substantiates it - I also came across people on forums saying exactly the same thing and having massive problems getting repairs done if they were now living in a different country to where they purchased it.
For MOST brands there are so many exclusions that the chances are the bit that has failed would not be covered anyhow. We will be in UK for the next 5 months so would be able to get any initial problems solved - outside that we would have to pay to send laptop back to the UK for repairs under warranty....will take my chances rather than paying a fortune for a worldwide warranty that is nothing more than a myth!

Update on the Dell saga, sent Mr Dell a polite but fairly blunt email yesterday telling him what I thought of his customer 'service' just had a senior manager on the phone this evening, new battery is being couriered to me tomorrow and they have transferred my details to the Aussie Dell database, meaning my warranty is now valid here for the remainder.

From the email they sent me anyone moving abroad can transfer their machine to Aus online at www.dell.com/dhs/globaltagtransfer and it would appear the warranty goes with it.
