I really know nothing about the Aussie economy or housing market but... Back in 2004 when housing prices started to fall then collapse in many markets in the US they continued to rise in other parts, up to still rising three and a half years later in the Northwest. We thought we were different. Since then...same results.

it's gone up 0.2% in two months, it's not something to panic about, compared to most of Europe, America and the UK, unemployment is very low in Australia, it's got a long way to go before it reaches those levels.

Governments lying about something like this would be quite stupid. With all the leaks from unnamed sources, keeping the real stats under wraps would be difficult and dangerous. This is not a defense of government agencies, just an observation.

Yes I agree, it isnt so much lying but the way they calculate the stats. There have been numerous posts here about this very thing.
