Well said! For someone that is happy to whinge about a bumper sticker, MDawson has an awful lot of opinions about other people and does an awful lot of defending of themselves when they don't like others that go against their opinion! In one of MDawson's previous posts, he/she says the following:
'The main issue I had with Australia is how most Aussies actually believe they are better than the rest of the human race (god knows why)'
So he/she implies they've gone home cos they don't like Aussies...is that not a discriminatory comment in itself.

It was my choice, why do you get so upset about this , looks like no-one is allowed to speak out or have a viewpoint on Australia , yes I did get that impression whilst I was in Oz that many many Australians do genuinely think they are better than everyone else , the bumper sticker was just one small example of this . I have never thought it my right to tell any immigrant to go home based on their free speech so long as they are not extremists of course wanting to blow people up.
The Canadian souded a little bit too far right to me , probably make a fine mainstream Australian. Of course I will defend my opinion , that my right .
I have had many agree with some of what I say , believe it or not there are people in Australia who would like to return home for many reasons personal to them but due to various circumstances they cant , so in affect they are stuck there.
Have you ever thought that they might not like it and can't go home?

You are so right. It seems like the entire thread was started by someone who is a little insecure and is desperate for third party validation of their decision to return. Don't worry OP you have it - you made the right decision and we are all very happy for you ( I am being sincere). You tried, you didn't like and you returned - takes guts to make the first move and a lot more to realise you've made a mistake and then do something about it very well done. Although it may be time for you to move on and (re) experience the joys of your rediscovered existence instead of dwelling on a past misadventure. Might make you a happier person

I'm convinced that there are many people still in Oz experiencing very similar to me for one reason or another and wonder if people jump the gun when they migrate to Australia , Australia is often seen through rose coloured glasses and many give the artificial impression that it's some kind of paradise and of course it isn't.
Cheers

Of course you are partially correct, not sure if I'm desperate for third party validation or insecure but your words are almost there.

Wasn't quite sure what to call a Canadian who appears to be new to Australia so he/she is still doing the patronising "thing" to fit in quckly with the local Aussies , who probably find this particular Canadian to be a Smarty Pants...did they say that on the Enterprise ? (Smarty Pants I mean)

William Shatner is Canadian , he seemed OK , I think?

Do NOT assume anything! I'm NOT new to Australia. And I AM a dual Canadian/Australian citizen - so yes I fit right in with the Aussies
. Australia is a great country, even if you think differently!BTW - I'll take that smarty pants label - thanks! Because I AM smart!

And the comment of how I'm a poor example for Canadians - oooooo ouch! Hurt my feelings - NOT!!!
As someone else mentioned - you are getting all twisted up and started this thread over a sticker on a car!
Good on ya!

How is that different to those who rubbish the UK in order to validate their move to Australia?....and to ease their anxiety about it being the right thing ......you see plenty of that on here.

I'm glad I did go home now , whats so well said about that !
Nothing laid back about Springfield Lakes with it's man made lake , I got bored of walking / riding round and round that little lake and listening to the army practising firing live rounds in the bush...not much to do there at all , accept do nothing at all.
You confirmed for me that I have made the correct decision.
