I don't believe a word of it, and don't think you should either.

Sounds like a removal company doing its best to scrape a few extra quid by persuading a family to take more stuff than they need.

How many KG is it 5 or 7? As I might have to buy a new one as the pump has gone in mine and it will cost a fortune to get repaired.

The rebates apply to water savings. When you buy a machine in Australia, it is rated re water consumption.

Just a total guess, but I would think that the dryer function would increase the water consumption (most combo machines condense the water vapour by a slow flow of cold water), so if you are after a rebate, you may be better off going for a separate dryer.

As I said, this is a total guess, so please check up re this

EDIT the rebates will only apply to machines bought in Australia: bring one from the UK, you will not get any rebate

Just because they are stopping toploaders (if they are) doesnt mean you cant bring yours with you! They are not going to order everyone to throw out their toploader, you just wont be able to buy a new one.
