Front Load washing machine
#1
Well bugger me
We have had an old washing machine in our garage now for over 12 months, so as we are planning on moving to OZ we sold it and thought we would buy one there
Oh no is the case. We have now been told by our shipping company that OZ are stopping the top loader washing machine in 18 months time so guess what
they have put the price up of all front loaders
The moral of the story is take your front loader & does any body have one for sale as we now need to buy another

We purchased a top loader washing machine when we first arrived in Australia 2 years ago and the wife hates it. We just about to buy a new front loader and they are priced from about $650 upwards.

you do get a rebate from the oz govt of about $200 when you buy a front loader, ask your salesman for the info when buying, it does take a few months to come through to your bank account, but worth the effort to fill in the paperwork and send of the receipt.
machines must have a 4 star water rating to qualify for the rebate and have just been informed they are not fazing out top loaders just bringing them into line with the current water regs, so if they are 4 star they will be eligible for the £200 water rebate also.
hope this makes sense

Strange. They appear to be getting cheaper and more popular down here. I wonder why it's different up there.

). its probably 'how long is a piece of string' question, but does anybody know how long this rebate incentive is being run for by the government?

We are in the visa process and as we have a large family we have 2 washing machines. One a 7kg front loader and the other a 8 kg top loader ( must say this one washes jeans etc better) Why do you say they are stopping the top loader as I was planning on taking both?
