The yankee one does not hit the spot either - no interest in conversing about things un-Australian.

I didn't post those links because I expected you to share some tender moments and bond with those people, I posted them because they proved you wrong.

Re: Escape from Oz

I am an English migrant. I have friends who retired out here 4 years ago. No children living here, just came out here on a retirement visa.

All they do is complain that the UK is much better than here. The British Health service is better, food cheaper, beaurocracy more friendly, children better behaved in the Uk etc. etc. You name it they will criticise it.

I have asked them why they are here and if they feel that way why don't they go back. They are not friends any longer.

It's that attitude that offends Australians. Why stay if it is so bad???? Very puzzling.

I'll see your use of Wikipedia to highlight a formal description of irony and raise you the use of an online dictionary to demonstrate an example of irony..

When you were looking up words, could you not have checked the spelling of 'indulging' 'passtime' and 'hubis'? Sort of negates your post in a small way.

That many huh? So I have just uncovered the very tip of a seething mass of ethnocentricity about to explode. Time to call ASIO and ensure they are appraised of the mortal danger to the nation.

Teeming / teaming: take your pick; brainwashed as they are they take their queues from others.

God almighty, you're back again. Is it part of your plan to bore us out of your wonderland?

Apparently we can not get rid of you buy such mean because return to Britain would mean certain death, albeit slow.

Well "buy such mean" (sic) you win at least a small victory. These exchanges are becoming so painful that I'm giving up on them.
