This post has degenerated (along with many others) into a commentary far removed from the original query - what was a general query about moving to Australia has now become a discussion on the Welsh, the rugby score at the weekend, crime in the UK and Australia, and I dare say much more by way of a personal slanging match as people seek to assert their opinions on others, which quite honestly are simply a repeat of much I have read before.

This hi-jacking of posts is tedious, unnecessary, and quite frankly it would be good if the Administrator would allow us a month or two without postings from certain people so that we can get back to the original generally helpful nature of this Forum that existed before certain unnamed individuals decided to amuse themselves by spending their daylight hours antagonising people on this forum.

Best regards.

well excuse me .. new rule - "must not talk about Rugby" "must not defend Wales, or the Uk when other person has attacked it" - rhainer asked a question (it was" I want to get out of the UK" - he/she could try researching a bit more - instead of saying "I want to get out of the UK"

The person who disrupted this thread was accusing people of racism was mikeburt - and nobody is supposed to respond (or defend themselves) to that?

Hang on I'll have a look at the topic of this forum -"
Probably the most popular destinations for British expatriates. This is where to ask for advice on living in and moving to Australia or New Zealand."

You want to attack anyone for changing this thread - try looking at the beginning

Cheers

If you've have been here 6 years you ought to take out citizenship, even if you never intend to come back. It's to do with keeping your options open, you can never tell whats going to happen in life and to reject the chance of returning here or to NZ for what is in effect a pittance ($120) is reckless.

Also with citizenship it gives your children the option of comming and living here even if you don't want to. Even PB has taken out citizenship (took him a while to admit it mind you).

I did do the deed but only because I intend to return to see old friends and I know getting a holiday visa for an ex -PR immo can be hard , they think you are going to creep back.
It was a rip off and as much as I love muttering an oath to a picture of Betty , there is no way any taxpayer should have been charged this amount , the buggers should have paid us.

In answer to your question

http://www.immi.gov.au/

That should get you started.

You could try Brisbane, Victoria, S.Aus, Tasmania, Northern territory or western Aus.

Your question is very general - try looking at the relevant link first

Look Wilf, its easy (and a cheap shot) to accuse me of self interest. And of course I can't defend myself because I run a business that is involved in helping people move to Australia.

However, I (and I dare say many others) are tired of reading anti-Australian comments, which smack of bitterness, posted by those who would be better off elsewhere - as someone who actually got off his backside and moved to Australia from the UK because I had had my fill of the UK I am afraid I have no sympathy if you don't like the country in which you live. Move somewhere else if you don't like it. And that's a personal perspective, not one motivated by my business interests.

Regards.

I agree with you Alan.
No, I didn't use your company to get my visas.

The reason it is easy to say you are here out of self interest is because this is a forum for ex-pats on the culture and lifestyle in Oz/NZ and you are here with your offices listed, your contact details up on the screen, and your company name clearly displayed. There is nothing cheap about my "shot" - it is one of the most fair I have ever made. Get rid of the business details, post just as Allan, and you will not hear me say it again. Either that, or pick up your market stall and move it up the road to the immigration forum or the for-profit adverts section, and there will be nothing to say.

I neither gain nor lose when someone emigrates here and so the worst I do is to make someone think twice. How about you?

No Wilf, the worst you can do is to p*** off someone who gives him time freely on this forum to help others who would like assistance with their move to Australia such that he doesn't do so in future.

I trust you and PB will be satsified when you are the only two left posting on this forum, as this will be the end result if matters are left unchecked - I leave it to the Moderators to decide accordingly.

Regards.

If it were left to me Alan, a few characters might find themselves banned on this forum. However, I'm only a moderator, not the administrator.
