I agree the plug in adaptors are just an immediate remedy. We are using them for the hairdryer/ hair straightener girlie things
I can't do without! Also, kids DS chrgers which they can't do without whilst we sort the 'boring' stuff out like somewhere to live!
We will change as many plugs as we can safely and have also purchased kettle / iron etc with Australian plugs.
The other adaptors I was talking bout were the multi-plug ones (sorry folks, this is just about how technical I get). We have sent over a couple but I would agree that these are potentially a fire hazard and would therefore not advise people to get carried away and send lots.

i would be changing all UK plugs to Australian 10A plug tops the adapters can be dangerous at best. its not expensive to get the right plug tops.
