will 10 ampere do for most appliances like cellphones, Iron, mixer blender e.t.c

Got adaptors yesterday - arrived 2 weeks ago. $10.00 each. Problem solved 
Everyone will tell you to bring some multi plug sockets from UK - good idea but don't go over the top like we did. Lots of cheap gadgets in K-Mart etc.

Make sure they aren't a fire risk on permanent use.
Extension leads and adaptors have a limit on how many amps they can take, so be careful not to overload them, to reduce the risk of a fire.

Why spend that much on adaptors when a replacement plug is a few dollars?
Poundland will do 2 adaptors for £1
for anyone in the UK but we found they are not 100% at staying in the Oz sockets, weight of adaptor plus UK plug would sometimes break the connection.
Replacing the UK plug where possible seems the best solution.
