E-mail visa - Good enough??

Hi,
Have received the electronic confirmation of our visa from the relevant office.
My agent advised me that this is Ok to travel with (it also mentions this in the body of the e-mail). Is this the normal proctice? Or should I go and get my passport updated?

u need to send ur letter with ur passport to Australia House London and get ur visa stuck in.......i think if u showed up with an e-mail they would laff at ya, but I may be wrong
