E-mail visa - Good enough??

Hi,

Have received the electronic confirmation of our visa from the relevant office.

My agent advised me that this is Ok to travel with (it also mentions this in the body of the e-mail). Is this the normal proctice? Or should I go and get my passport updated?

If it was an eVisa - one you applied for online (eg 457) then that is the normal practice - you then have to go to the nearest DIMIA office to get Visa label put in within 3 weeks of entering country.

457 visa, the thought of travelling with e-mails sounds wrong. But it does say it on the form. My worst nightmare is turning up at the airport to be sent back! Can you imagine it?

think BIX is on a 457 and mentioned something in a previous post about not having to have a sticker in the passport on initial entry just the grant letter

I entered Australia in this way 5 weeks ago on 457 - so take comfort in personal experience.

No, I wasn't sent back!!
