Indonesians do not feature largely in Australia's immigration figures strangely.
Only 50,900 were registered in the last 06 census. Most of those living in NSW. Of that number Muslims mafde up far less than half. Most were ethnic Chinese. Percentage had increased by 18 % on five years earlier though. Cheers troubadour  |

That's definitely what you could call the long way. Obviously someone got lost because you can walk from PNG to West Papua.

That depends on whether you want to do it legally or not. Border laws are designed to restrict movement and you only break the law if you get caught.

That's just geography. Some walks are more challenging than others and there's always the coastal route. :sneaky:
Anyhoo. While you're trying to convince me that it's easy based on nothing more than you not knowing anything about it; it doesn't make getting from Jakarta to Aus any easier than getting on a plane. Which is no harder than someone coming from another country. |

Or biology. Coastal route is where they have the guards.
Do you think they have enough guards patrolling the coast to cover every mile? I think not. Anyhoo. How do you know? Have you ever done it?

Not an assumption. Just a conclusion derived from the evidence given so far.

I think it would be easier to just get on a plane and fly to Australia so it really is a moot point. |

I am quite aware of the problems with the West Papua border. That doesn't mean it is impossible to cross legally or illegally and the West Papua border isn't always closed. Anyway, in real terms, crossing a border is a simple as geography and going from 'A' to 'B'. |
Re: Does Australia suffer from inferiority-complex?
How dependant do you think PNG is on Australia?
