Come on, all you Queenslanders out there!!!!!

How nice would it be to have light until 8:30pm?
I know it will confuse the cows and there milking times. But it will be worth it.
Cheers

Well thats two more votes for it. Its good to see DST coming back on the agenda again. I can't believe they have an anti-DST petition too, and its only argument is "We had a vote 13 years ago, and voted against it".
Don't they realise in those intervening 13 years cows have got alot smarter and can now adjust their body clocks by 1 hour twice a year.

That's me signed up.
The problem is as one Queenslander told me, if you have Daylight Savings then his parent's bakery will actually have to stay open an extra two hours each day.
I have no idea how he worked that out as I lost interest and walked away.
Paul.

). Shops here shut ridiculously early (the two chip shops near us shut at 7pm!! Its dinner time ffs). We also have a 'convenience' store that shuts a 7.30pm, how convenient is that?
Now if it was light until 8pm with people still wandering about, they might have second thoughts about shutting so stupidly early while potential customers were still walking past.

The shop will remain open the same amount of time. No big deal! Shop will open the same aount of "daylight" time. No big deal.
I have signed the petition too and urged everyone I know to as well.
I don't reckon it will get passed as too many people her simply don't understand how it works!
The daylihgt hours arent being extended by daylight savings, just the time they start and stop is moving forward. So it's not sunshine at 04:00 while the majority are asleep and dark at 18:00 when we are awake! Instead, it will get light at 05:00 and get dark at 19:00. Much more sensible!
There is absolutely NO bona fide argument against this happening.

Where do you draw the new timezone line? Will people in Cairns then start complaining that their businesses are no longer in line with their state capital and demand action?
