Anglo Pacific:-
Opt 1. £4100 for 20ft (961 cubic ft) sole use container = £4.26 per cubic ft.
Opt 2. £2795 for 548 cubic feet shared container = £5.10 per cubic ft.
We also got a quote from John Mason but have revised our list of items to take with which will be less than the above quote.
Waiting for Anglo Pacific to get back to us with revised quote.

Oh god you are so organised. You have 11 weeks to go and have quotes already.

I have people coming in Mon, Tues, Wed to quote and we could (all being well) need them in within 3 weeks.

Ok, I really am joking this time!

I did tell them all I would need a packing date at really short notice and no point quoting if they could not do it...

I have gone to Pickfords, Britannia and Bishops, also hoping for a 20ft container as I have budgeted £5000 for the move from Ascot to Brisbane.

Anglo Pacific took quite a while to quote (days), while John Mason was virtually the next day by post! So bear that in mind and ask them to send the quote asap.

Are you using the Nottingham office? We went with them cant fault them. They use Grace removals in Oz they were great too. We used DB insurance but didn't need it everything arrived as it was packed. Good tip they gave us if you are bringing any garden furniture, bikes, lawnmower anything that has been outside that may have soil on it use Jays cleaning fluid to clean it. It stinks but it shows customs you have cleaned them and they are less likely to want to fumigate your stuff. Customs checked our bikes and lawnmower but it got through no probs.

Their sister company Grace (australia) have so far also been very helpful and quick with communications etc.
I feel very comfortable using them.

Darn it. Just had my first company around to quote and they have said we will need a 40 foot. As I suspeted just a bit too much for the 20 foot. Not got actual quote yet. If I have to have a 40 foot I am going to go and buy a load more stuff to put in it.

Good idea with the exchange rate as it is. Its cheaper to buy in the UK and pay the shipping costs!

You may have to pay duty on stuff less than a year old. That's what we were told by the one shipper. e.g. new TVs etc...
