Bulmers have a big cider factory in Perth I think and they make a Bulmers draught cider which is not too bad but quite sweet.Bottled Strongbow is fairly strong and in three types. The Bulmers draught is ok when ice cold but there is also Black Rat in bottles.Black Rat is an English brand name for rough cloudy cider and a sparkling one.The bottled one is very slighly cloudy.

That's interesting.... Haven't found any outlets in Melbourne yet, though - do they sell it interstate?

Cheers,
Anya.

Hi Anya,
The Black Rat brand name belongs to Moles Brewery in Melksham ,Wiltshire,England.Various versions of Rat are available in Australia and USA.In Oz there is an apple version (obviously) and two others, lemon and blackcurrant which I will ignore. The apple version is not the cloudy type.As for availabilty you could send email to [email protected]
See also www.theblackrat.com , Im going out now for some real Rat,the cloudy rough farm type at my local pub in Gloucester UK.Iwill have a few pints for you.Im a very kind person! Might even send a photo of a full pint.
All the Best,
Mike.
