Default Changing career into teaching

Hi, this is Mrs. Satch_Boogie and I have a question. I currently have a BSc in Finance as well as an MBA from two respected US universities. I have worked as the head of private banking prior to staying home with the children. I have been thinking about changing careers and heading into teaching hopefully at a college, TAFE or adjunct university faculty.

What would I need to do in order to make this career change?

Are you in Oz or the UK? If you're planning on doing it in oz then you might be interesting in this.

I am still in the UK and would be looking to do this when we make the move to Australia. I love maths and it was a huge part of my BSc and MBA.

Well, as you can tell from that report, Maths and Science teachers are in big demand!

here's some more food for thought.

Where in Oz are you thinking of moving? I know that Flinders Uni in SA have a good teacher training course if that helps?

If you want to teach at a TAFE then I would suggest ringing them and seeing what they require.

I know when I looked into it they wanted a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. I already have a teaching degree but that was irrelevant. So if you've already got a solid background picking up a certificate IV is no big deal (about $1500) and a relatively short course that can be done online I think.

Best to ring them directly and see what advice you can get.
