Actually the full package on sky is more like 66GBP - and I don't believe that includes the phone. Broadband is a nice addition though. And remember that the Aussie $ is very strong at the moment so a direct comparison like that is a little misleading.
I think the deals are pretty similar in terms of price - although I agree that sky probably provide the better service. But then they have approx. 6 times the number of subscribers as Foxtel - so you'd kind of expect it.

http://packages.sky.com/offers/hd/ sky hd + skyworld 58.50. Free evening and weekend calls whoooo. Telstra will charge you 90 bucks a month for free calls... errmmm hardly free!!
I've got a 100 gig plan with iinet @ 89 bucks very fast though at 24 mbs.... 18 bucks with Pennytel covers all my phone costs including 500 mins of mobile or 150 calls.... and my foxtel is everything except for movies @ 88 bucks per month. Dont need cable movies when you've got the net to choose from

Not sure how that compares.... Should imagine it's a fair chunk dearer here. Depends on the mobile costs

Just noticed my connection is 12 times faster than Sky are offering. Do you have to pay line rental with your sky package in anyway for a telephone line.... As IInet has no line rental.

I thought one of the changes to Foxtel was that you could go full screen with the Sky News Active mini screens? Does anyone know if you can and if so how do you do it?
I can't see how.
I was looking forward to 7 being on Foxtel but it's not available in WA. Oh well.

You can not expect Foxtel to have the same level of variety and cost structure as Sky or any US cable company. The population simply can not support it. Foxtel has GIGANTICALLY improved and will continue to do so over the next couple of years, it simply takes TIME.

Foxtel should be able to incorporate the channels that TPG has with their internet service.... even if most of them are foreign.
....http://www.tpg.com.au/iptv/
I wouldnt brag about the Sky Broadband though... it's a crap speed service. No where near as good as TPG or IInet. Skybroadband wouldnt suit my uses.... 3 people using computers at once in my house at times.... Can you choose a faster speed with them ?
I suppose if it's free then beggers can't be choosers
