I don't take any responsibility for this working or not but some people on Whirlpool seem to have confirmed that it works
To force the update on the iQ (not the STB):
Press “back†& “select†on the front of the box at the same time for 3 secs, once all the lights apper on the front press “standby†“up†“down†“standby†the box will now update its software, after about 10 mins it will reboot.

I'm also mostly excited about having channel 7 soon (I hope). We're on satellite so it's annoying that we can't tape the shows on 7 at the moment.

We are on cable so have 7 and 10.
We find we miss all the channel 9 stuff as we forget what programmes they have and when.
Is 9 coming onboard do we know?

We are in Sydney where they broadcast 7, 9, 10 etc via sat already - do they not do that in Melb etc. still??
Looks like we get lots more HD channels too - Sports 1, 2 and 3, Fox 8, UKTV - all HD now
And to the guy who's trying to turn this into an 'Australia is crap' thread - we will be whatching tv in the evenings this weekend after we've been walking, scuba diving, bbq-ing and swimming. Get over yourself.

Seeing all these previews for the Vancouver games with offers of signing up now appearing to indicate that Foxtel won't be providing the games on their standard sports channels. Is this the case?
If so, it seems a bit underhanded (no surprise really) that despite paying for the "sports" package the games aren't included on these channels and to get them you have to fork out more $$$.

Channel 7 and several others now turned up on Foxtel + also a new look news Inc. bigger sky UK and local news choice. However no good programs on 7 at the mo like Lost. Did here a rumour that was going to some other new channel 7 option not on Foxtel.

I've always had 7 (and 7HD) on Foxtel! And 9 and 10..... I'm in Sydney.
I've noticed that as of yesterday I can also now get a lot of HD channels, W, UKTV and some movies, but not their 'normal' equivalents. Is this temporary? in an attempt to get me hooked and then sign up?

Well, Foxtel Satellite in Melbourne now, finally, has Seven. The only problem is that there is no Series Link on any of the shows. What a surprise, the most paranoid network in Australia doesn't want to help viewers watching through Foxtel.
UPDATE: Looks like 7two will be coming to Foxtel Satellite on 24th Nov.

It was really interesting during the change. I just arrived home, prior to watching the Australia v Oman game.(jeez it was crap lol) For a little while there I thought I was going to miss out, as all the remote would bring up was searching for listings. Pressed the back button and got onto a channel and had to flick through 1 by 1 to get to sports. I had the "big picture" package before which is everything except for movies, without HD obviously. I notice that I now get showcomedy/action/drama oh and FMC.... which is a surprise to me.. are they going to take this off or is it considered part of the Big Picture package.

Moving intoa 12 month rental ina few weeks and "need" to watch moto gp n worlds superbikes next year, can you confirm if i will need a foxtel package?
And also ive been told i will need a dish too due to no cable,is this fitted free?
Oh and while i have drifted off topic, sorry guys, is it cost effective to get the internet as a package with foxtel too?
thanks guys

Sadly it's not going to be. I would suggest it's a East Coast/West Coast issue with the satellites footprint (although I don't know why)
FOXTEL: Yes the channel [7two] will be broadcast on Foxtel cable from 24th November. Foxtel Satellite will be available in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane only from the 24th November as well.

I have noticed that Foxtel, being Australian, is far superior to Sky, which is typical of the sort of crap you get living in Britain.
Just an observation.
