I did the paper one. Do you think I should scrap that and do the online one instead then. Because I am not in very often and was wondering how they ever going to pick this one up.

The ABS does not use it's every day systems for the census. Dedicated systems with plenty of grunt and bandwidth will be used and secured tighter than a nats twuff.
Son managed to log on to the cencus site earlier but it just hung on the first log-in page. Can't even get onto the server now and no-one is answering the phone. There's probably a queue a mile long. Gonna be interesting if it's like this over the next couple of evenings. |

Yes. The online one takes about 10 minutes, and then the whole thing is over and forgotten.

Nice thought Ivan but they obviously underestimated what grunt would be needed.

Re: census,2011
I think it took about half an hour the other night but that was with three people's work info needing to be put in and I didn't have the addresses etc to hand.

Yeh I meant for one person as it took me 20 mins for 4 people all living at the same address.

Re: census,2011
I rang the call centre for a privacy envelope as the collector just dumped the stuff, despite us being home.
The operator had a really strong accent and broken english, she really couldnt understand my ( english ) accent. . Took me about 10 mins to get the privacy envelope which I hope gets here because she simply no matter how many times I spelt it, her strong accent would repeat it as something else:blink:. I gave up in the end hopefully it will arrive by the postcode. |
