Something more constructive, OK caboolture had/has a bad reputation cause its got loads of housing commission homes and aussies look down their noses on that class of person, same as council estates then.
BUT caboolture has the best train service to CBD, huge amounts of shops, heaps of development, TAFE, I think it has a uni campus planned too, huge hospital planned and the new land estates are of course trying to upmarket the place.
If anywhere is cheap within cooeee of of brisbane you can bet it wont be cheap for long - however driving through some bits well it looks well rough and so do some of the residents, odd gang, odd upturned car, odd burnt out mattress in the front yard that sort of thing, can give a very wrong impression on first arrival depending on what streets you go down, doubt very much if new estates look like that, mostly seen the older parts for work,

Your gonna get that where ever you go , I am sure.
I totally agree, with the fact, northern push, expansion and the soon to be created supershire, of which Caboolture is within, will spell the changes most ripe.. for a area expanding its boundary .
Caboolture shire is huge.

thankyou sir.
Apologies for my rudeness, it was out of character and undeserved.
However did read this.. And kinda applies to all areas, west of the Bruce.
• A poorly-maintained house or unit. As previously mentioned, the bogan often resides in regions of a lower socio-economic standing. Basically, in most cases the bogan is located some way inland from a coastal fringe or major waterway. In the case of Sydney, this has lead to the term "westie" being coined in order to distinguish the boganistic population of the inland western suburbs from the more affluent residents of the east. In the case of NSW/QLD and Victoria, the majority of bogans are located on or west of the Great Dividing Range. Whilst this is not always the case, it is important to note that the concentration of bogans per capita is somewhat higher in these areas. The bogan house usually consists of a number of elements (see below):
The bedroom (for rootun).
The balcony (for smokun/shootun).
The livun room (for watchun telly/smokun/gettun pissed).
The kitchen (for storun beer).
The combined bathroom/laundry (for washun shit) .
The shed (for rootun/smokun/shootun/gettun pissed/storun beer/workun on the commo).
Apologies for my rudeness, it was out of character and undeserved.

Didn't mean to start a slagging match, but thanks for the info, I still think Caboolture may be right for us, we would be living in a new estate area anyway or perhaps Morayfield, we are planning to build a 30sq home with maybe Coral Homes so hopefully we can find some land now! :-)

Caboolture is a Great area, and the reason prices are somewhat cheaper than bayside dick heads, is cos real estate agents find it easier to sell postage stamp property to pommy idiots with the mental capacity of a cane toad.
Caboolture is cheaper, however, there are multi million dollar pads, I can show you. Its all about proximity.
Caboolture is neither Noosa or indeed Brisbane, so it stands on its own infrastructure.
A quick look at demographics and median house prices and trends, will demonstrate that the former poster, and his caveat emptor and bogan comments is both ill founded and contemtable.
I have worked in all of the areas you mention, with the exception of Collingwood Park.
If you want some information, best usually to listen to an expert, or indeed someone not living in a twee mansion-for-expansion 400 sqm home on a 410 sqm block !
How stupid does is sound when we make a generalistic statement such as that !!
