Just did my first OneWorld DM booking.
MEL - New York (EWR)
LAX - MEL
All on Cathay business class (my favourite!) and via HKG both directions.
110k miles + $122 taxes pp.
Super easy call...about 15 minutes. Availability matched up with what the Qantas and JAL sites were showing.

Hi Bc,
How far ahead are you searching?
In other words, when do you fly?
I'm not stalking you honest.........
Just thinking about availability!

Yes, I'd be interested in how far ahead your booking is for. I didn't buy miles in the recent promo and suspect I'll regret it!

There's another dividend miles bonus running. Not quite as good as previous ones, for example if you buy or gift 80,000 miles you get a 50,000 miles bonus.

Well having finally beaten KVS into submission if not mastered it I have just made our first Oneworld booking:
PER - HKG - LAX-YVR stopover then - JFK. returning JFK - HKG - PER.
Easiest phone call ever to U.S. barely 20 mins. 110k miles $1900 p.p. taxes.
Well pleased

ooops! My bad. I would not have been pleased with that. Only $190 of course.
Have not flown CX before so looking forward to that particularly as you rate them so highly BC.

Love CX...great seat, vastly more comfortable than SQ's benches! Which is great, because those trans Pacific sectors are LOOOOOOOONG! I think my HKG-EWR flight is 16 hrs!

Also, if I do book economy with CX can I upgrade using my Dividend miles?
#2595

No, no upgrades using miles.
In economy I would probably default to the best combination of simplest / quickest / cheapest for your trip...I guess that means EK or CX for you, but prices look steep!
