I notice you live in Cleveland. Have you tried this curry house?
The Spice Avenue Balti Restaurant - British Indian Cuisine
Haven't seen anything like it over here. It would be a round trip of $120 in the taxi from where I am so a very dear curry indeed! Still I might treat myself one day.

I wouldn't go about wasting money for taxi though as it's easily accessible by train via Central Station on the Cleveland line.Just get off at Birkdale (45 mins from Central and it's only about 300 yds from station across main road in same shopping complex as Woolworths. Trains run every half hour usually both ways then hourly after a certain time
There's also an Irish bar (which you probably wont like
) and an English fish and chip shop a couple of doors away if you're still hungry
Owners originally from Midlands and are lovely people Last edited by bobbyftm; Jul 6th 2015 at 9:30 pm.

Make a trip of it at the weekend/day off and have a few beers in the Irish bar there.

Unfortuantely we aren't back home so you have to take the best there is. Same as me wanting decent fish n chips or a keeebab after a night in the pub. Its what you learn afterr a few years in a penal colony!!

A proper pub is also a rare find, especially in the Sutherland shire as I recall where there were... none. Just the odd typical bar that looked like the sort of place you'd have a beer before you heard the words "Last call for flight FO321" before bolting towards the gate at some regional airport...
This seems to be a cultural thing though, which is strange considering the country's origins - the whole "pub culture" thing just isn't the same.
