Yes please - talk back to Canberra - after all it is so beautiful here this morning - blue skies 4 degrees - sunshine and it is only 8 am :) park right outside my office and no fee - not much traffic this morning at all and the most amazing thing happened - As I was driving to the pool at 6.30am in an inner Belconnen suburb - a skippy bounced across the road - it wasn't too close so I didn't have an accident - but it really made me smile - I love seeing them bouncing around - is it me???? Or are they just amazing animals? :) |

I was cycling down the cycleway alongside Athlon Drive from Tuggers to Woden when 2 roos bounced out of trees alongside the path. Still havent worked out how to fit a roobar to a cycle :D If you want to see a mob of roos, the paddocks at the Jerrabomberra turnoff is a starting point. WW |

Seems to me that these people are Lebanese who emigrated to Australia a while back, got Aussie citizenship & then moved back to Lebanon. In other words Australia has been a country of convenience for them, a stable country where they can get citizenship, move back to Lebanon (where they would rather be) & then use as a bolt hole when the shit hits the fan in Lebanon & get all the benefits of being an Australian citizen. The Australia government does have a legal obligation to get them out that's for sure but it is not their fault that the logistics of getting them out are so difficult. It does happen to be on the other side of the world from Australia & Australia does not have a blue water navy or strategic airlift capability.

I thought it ironic that some dual-nationality Lebanese were calling in the Australian government to help them out when they have chosen to live elsewhere and yet the Australians are (were) themselves relying on a third government to help them out (Britain) in evacuating their own citizens. |

I'm too drunk, I can't find the delete key  I've had a good night, dont ruin it!!! My experiences of canberra - the guy in the airport was rude and unhelpful (free flights MEL-BNE, change in Canberra) - looked quite interesting though, I'm sure the city was better than the airport! |
