You've waited over 3 years to tell us that?

My mind boggles sometimes ... Welcome to BE!

Expat Shield is OK for downloading stuff but I've shelled out for a UK-based VPN and it's so much better for about a fiver a month.

The only thing I want live is cricket commentary ...Everything else comes from elsewhere ad-free ...

No its from a company in europe, I found them early this year and I get 28 channels live
And I can go back and watch any program in the last 5 days. I pay 180 euros every 6 months, It sound expensive but its far better than watching on a computer.

Yup it would and it does with my VPN.

I would also like the complete archives of The Goon Show at my disposal.

And some shipping forecasts for old time's sake.

You dont need i-player, this is the same as having a satellite decoder but without a dish. I have the decoder under my tv and is just connected to my router, it then is hdmi connected to my tv. I also get E4 and More4 which keeps my 12 year old happy.

Nope, can't take any credit for research... I met Darren a couple of years back in Southern Spain... and they were attempting to sell that service then!
