Baggage allowance..

[QUOTE=DC10;9894701]Skytrax is a probably the most respected airline and airport review site. BA has quite a reasonable flat fee for extra baggage if you pre-pay (about £40), but be careful if code sharing on a Qantas plane (as many do) as it's not 100% clear whether the £40 rate applies then. The Qantas excess rates are pretty punitive.
Soon, all the BA flights to Australia will be code shared with Qantas when BA stop flying into Sydney. Think they stop at the end of March.

I think there is still lounge access for Silver members at DXB but not at the main business lounge or even in the terminal EK uses?

Access to EK Lounges:
- First Class/Business Class and Skywards Gold. Skywards Gold may take 1-guest.
- First/Business Class passengers may not take a guest into the lounge (unless they are Gold Skywards members)
There are currently 26 EK run lounges.

Hasn't been the case for some time. NZ normalised it's allowance across its long haul network, no more separate rules for the Americans...everyone gets 1 bag max 23kg.
Extra bag charges are reasonable though.

We've got an Emirates Citibank Platinum credit card and when we purchase our tickets with this card, it entitles us to a chaufferur service to and from Brisbane airport (within 60k's) and also access to the lounge in Brisbane, and considering our flight is around 2.30 am, that might come in handy.

my partner used this service last year and he said its the Emirates First/Business class lounge, which also allows access to the aircraft direct, without going through the normal channel downstairs.
When you say "all lounges", this service is only available in Australia as its an Australian credit card. You can't use it in Dubai or London, etc. We are only going as far as singapore anyway, and then getting a BA flight to Heathrow.
