This is interesting. Can you show me where I said Office workers were wankers?
Be careful, I think you are about to defend bankers and politicians.
You will be among a small group of fans my friend.
And as you and I both know, degrees are worthless bits of paper. The MBA was a waste of money. I didn’t find the answer I was looking for.
I found more of it at Duntroon though. Now that did tax my mind.

Well, not yours.
And as a fully qualified teacher with two degrees and a business owner - yes, I generally do.
So then, respecter of brains, why are office workers ''wankers''?! Cos they have air conditioning and tradies have to work outside in the repulsive Australian sun?

I think he said politicians and bankers were the wankers not office workers,
and I worked that one without any degrees and hardly any qualifications

You are a Teacher?
I wrote: “Compared to politicians and bankers they are bloody saints, and those wankers sit on their asses in air-conditioned offices.â€
Please re-read my sentence.
I accept that you made an error. I have made similar errors in the past, and I know how easy it is to do, so lets forget it.
Unless you really want to defend politicians and bankers.

You might be surprised. The forces attracts some very capable people who have first rate brain and brawn. In fact for places like Duntroon, an academic record or some degree of application is just as, if not more important than some arbitrary fitness test. They can work on your fitness, your native intellect, maturity, decision-making and leadership skill is something else.

ADFA gives you a UNSW Degree, and RMC short service course give you a Degree in Management.
The ADF actually pays you to go off and study further degrees, hence the prevalence of MBAs etc.
I was really dumb. I paid 30K to study for mine, only to discover after I joined the army that they would have picked up the tab.
I would also say RMC Duntroon, like Sandhurst, are demanding both physically and mentally, and often at the same time. You might find yourself performing complex logistics calculations in the morning, an assault course, and then studying leadership theory that afternoon.

So, there are too many tradies, they are stupid and do a poor job, people who work in offices are wankers and people in the armed forces are thick.
Another BE thread filled with poorly formed opinions by people who can't seem to accept the opinions of others. Gold!

Yes, I didn’t argue with Momo, but I know more people with MBAs in the defence force than I do out of it. Half the senior officers have PhDs.

So where on earth does being a former nuclear submariner now a chartered management accountant with an MBA and who physically laboured to build his own house leave me then?

There's nothing wrong with stereotypes in my opinion. As long as people recognise them for what they are...just generalisations.

That's if you can get one to show up to give a quote. We have been looking for someone to build a retaining wall in front of our house. We could do it ourselves, however we very nearly came to blows when we did the driveway so thought we would pay someone to do it. When you phone they're more than happy to arrange appointments but never bloody show up to quote! I've left work early twice this week waiting for bloody stonemasons to come. No phone call, not even a call back to apologise when we leave a message asking where the hell they were.
Are there any limestone retaining wall builders in Perth NOR who would like to build our retaining wall and possibly save a marriage in the process?

Said that we never had a problem with a plumber, they always came on time. I know from friends NOR, they had a plumber, electrician and tiler who do a brilliant job but are booked out well ahead. It's a team of Brits who have a very good reputation.
I'm lucky that I don't have to call an electrician.
