The flights were brilliant and I highly recommend SIngapore Airlines, they were fantastic we did night flights and I really think that made a difference with the jet lag and everything as none of us got it!!!
We have looked at a couple of schools and the third one we found we totally love it is St Francis in Wynn Vale a little private school, which has so many facitilites I thought it was just perfect for my daughter and son in a couple of years when he will start!!
My kids just love it here big time they honestly dont want to go home again!! It is going to be a nightmare getting them back on the plane I think but at least it will only be about 4-5 months before we are back for good!!
We love it here and Adelaide gets a lot of bad press, but we cant understand it, I suppose if you want hotter weather or a more trendy town then far enough but other than that it offers we think everything for a family with kids to live a safe happy life!!

We went house hunting today!! I love it here the way they sell houses it is so much better than the UK!! They have open hours at the weekend where you wonder in take a look and register your interest, making it so much easier for people like us to take a look without being under any pressure!!
Well we are gutted tonight, have had to drink a few bottle to over come the deep frustration we now feel as today we found our dream house in Golden Grove, we loved it offered everything we want in a house and more all for the money we want to pay!! But being we are only on a rekkie we are not ready to buy until we return for good in February!! So both feeling a little pissed off!! But as my mother always says "Whats for you wont go by you" and I am sure when the time comes there will be something there for us!! But right now that dont make us feel any better!! Still the fact we have another 8 viewings lined up for tomorrow, who knows we could find another dream house and be even more depressed by tomorrow night!!

Well thought I would update on here the last few days!!
Signed the kids up for a fantastic school!! A little Private one that offers so much more than their current school in the UK!! Will hold their places until we arrive which now looks more like January than Feb/March as was planned!!!
Sent 5 CV's off for husband to "test the water" and got two phone calls next day, Husband had two interviews today, got offered both jobs, both sound fantastic and offering excellent money etc etc etc!! BOTH will hold jobs until he arrives!!
Found some gorgeous houses and I want one NOW!!
Decided to ship our car out to!! Mainly because it is only 18 months old and I love it and want to bring it and they dont make them here!! And having looked into all the costs seems to us anyway a very viable situation!!
Met friends LabraDoodle Puppy called Daisey (No I didnt believe it either) and she is GORGEOUS!! Big brown soft and curly and a complete NUTTER!! Kids think she is great and I want one of those TOOOOoooooo!! Although heard they are about $2500!!! Need to start saving more pennies!! :scared:
Done lots of sight seeing and exploring and still just LOVE IT here in Adelaide!! Still cant get the slagging off alot of people give Adelaide, but like I said before each to their own!!
I love the way everything is so simple here like for example the bloke in the Yute infront of us today, no fancy name on the side just "Garden Bloke" really made us both laugh!! And the way they put above the shop exactly what it is, so makes it so easy to find things!!
There are some things that I can see I will miss back in the UK when we move for good!! Like today bought some mayonaise from Coles and it tasted crap!! So will be bringing a couple of crates of Marmite, Hellmans Mayo (Extra Light of course!!) and Kit Kats as they dont taste the same here!! Oh yes and Hula Hoops, who cares about personal items and sofas, and beds etc etc as long as I can fill the container with those I will be one very happy person!!
Really starting to get our bearings now which is great although for some reason we keep ending up in Highbury when we are trying to get somewhere!! Not sure what happens there!!
Cant believe we been here for three weeks and have to come home in another two!! Kids will be gutted as daily they say they dont want to return to the UK!!
But for us it is certainly the right decision to move here, really pleased we did a rekkie to check it out before we made the move as for us EVERYTHING has come together in this trip which will make that HUGE move next year a little easier as we will already know exactly what we are coming to!! Having done this rekkie trip I take my hat off to anyone that comes blind!!
Off on Sunday for Fathers Day to Adelaide Zoo, bit gutted it means the OH gets two bloody fathers days this year!! But decided to make next Sunday Mummys Day!! ha ha Well that will consist of a cup of tea in bed!! But think I deserve it having run around like a headless bloody chicken for weeks!!!

Glad you like ADL. I work in the city and live out south near Mclaren Vale.
Have you looked at the south by the way we've got beautiful beaches here unlike the north side of the city which has none?

Oh!!! Didnt think about that one!! Will keep trying the Mayo's here then till we find one we like!! They all taste really sweet!! YUCK!!
Still a minor factor in moving to Adelaide but we do love a good old Egg Mayonaise and Cucumber sarni!!

Well we are gutted as we enter week five and our final week here in Adelaide!! Flying home on Thursday and none of us want to leave!! We have had a very busy 4 weeks here and have managed to cover so much more than we anticipated we would!! We feel like we have combed Adelaide and its suburbs with a fine tooth comb!! Well some of the suburbs anyway!!
Had great fun days out at many attractions and still to sample the Ice Skating which we are heading to on Tuesday!! Should be fun as I have not skated for 20 years, OH never has and 7 year old daughers favourite film is Ice Princess and she thinks she will be doing triple toe jumps as soon as she hits the ice!!??
But anyway we have had a brilliant time and have come to the decision that Adelaide is for us!! There are some minor factors that we are not so keen on but they are far out weighed by those we are VERY keen on!!
We have found a brilliant private school for both kids and having somehow passed the entrance interview they now have a place waiting for them both when we return!!
My OH sent off 6 CV's when we got here and has now had 3 interviews and has another interview this week, he has been offered 3 really good jobs, all of which want to hold the position for him, so he needs to make some decisions!! By the way he is a Stainless Steel Fabricator specialising in Architectural Steel Work, so not what you would say a run of the mill type job!
I have met some fantastic people that have been so helpful and friendly and well basically just great!! Especially one friend who I think in time we will become very good and close friends!! I know I am going to miss her on my return to the UK!
So all in all for us a brilliant trip and none of us can wait to return for good in February next year!!

And for us Adelaide we feel will offer us most of the things we are looking for in our lives, but it wont be for everyone!!

They watched the films and then slept for hours which was great!! The flight seemed to go really quckly and when we arrived at Singapore they both went mad, running around but that was fine as we had 5 hours to wear them both out before getting on the next flight to Adelaide!!
Arrived in Adelaide feeling filthy and just wanting a shower as we had no clothes to change into at Singapore decided to not bother showering there!! But all being so excited didnt care that we all looked so rough!!
We have been here since Monday and having heard alot of good and also alot of bad press about Adelaide from people on this site and other sites and wanted to put what we thought so far!! We love it!! It is everything we wanted and more!! Have not stopped since we got here as all so excited to get out and about and see what is here.
The highlight so far has to be holding a REAL Koala Bear at Cuddly Creek, my 7 year old was made up with that, couldnt believe how soft and cuddly he was!! And then of course feeding the Kangaroos, just finished her off!! She thought that was fantastic!! It was so good to hear her say yesterday having only been here a couple of days that she never wants to go back to the UK!! But have had to explain that we will for a short time!!
Have had a good look around at areas and houses and schools, and so far we really like Golden Grove, Highbury, Modbury and Valley View!! There was another one which was VERY posh but just a little out of our price range, :scared: cant remember the name of it now and there are various other areas we love like Glenelg and Brighton and cant even think what the names of the others were but whilst we loved them we didnt want to live there for various reasons!!
We love it here and all the boxes we had to tick in order to confirm our decision have been ticked with great big large red bold ticks!!
So now we have another three and half weeks of just enjoying a taster of the life we will soon live for good!!
Anyway must get back to my
