At least if you applied for the visa now, you would be exempt from any future changes that might disadvantage you later on or arising health problems.

well, we are off to aus for a holiday in 3 weeks, and its a kind of make or break time for my other half - if he likes it then we will start the process again; if he doesnt, then we wont ...

Yes they have expired, we didnt anticipate it would take over a year

Have you started the process before then?

I reckon Aussie immigration has become a part of my thought process now, in fact I am considering in taking a GCSE in it.
