We still need to do a car boot sale, sell bikes on ebay and sell the car. It feels like we're running out of time fast. How are the rest of you doing?

We have had no luck selling our house despite 13 people viewing it, so we have decided to go anyway. The dog is booked up before us and he leaves on the 14th November.
We are not too happy about leaving the house empty but like a lot of other people we have to validate soon and when you consider the cost of that trip etc we think we are doing the right thing :scared:

Where are you going to John? Have you got someone to check on your house while you're gone. I guess you've seize the day and not things get in your way. I hope you have sale soon.

We have decided to take the bull by the horns and go because it seems like we have being waiting forever, my Wife is a long term temp and her job ends in November and I work for a major Insurance company that is going through a complete reorganisation and I don't even know if I would have a job this time next year and I am fed up being pestered by my Sisters about when we are coming out.

Yes, we go in just over 3 weeks, shippers coming Wednesday so spent the entire weekend sorting just exactly what we are going to take, whittled down the number of boxes still further so should save a bit on shipping costs!!
Starting to feel like we are moving, although dont quite think it's sunk in just where we're going!
House seems very empty at the moment. My last night in the house tonight, off to the parents with the cat tomorrow pm so she's out of the way when the shippers are here.
Then garage sale on Saturday to get rid of LOADS of stuff we're not taking.

We land in Brisbane 2 weeks tomorrow!
The house is gone, staying with parents at the moment. The car went last week so we have a hire car for a fortnight. Just clearing up all the loose ends now. Its amazing it all seems to be organised, not like me at all.
The final part is that we finish work at the end of this week and then it might seem real, at the moment it all seems like a dream. Probably wont realise that it is real until we get on the plane!!

From: Back in Huddersfield, after fantastic time in Gold Coast

Hi, we go on the 12th October to Upper Coomera, Gold Coast. Leaving house unsold, only sold one car so far, but fingers crossed second one will be gone by the end of the week. Kids have their leaving disco on the 30th Sept and we have a leaving do in the local pub on the 1st October. Getting really excited now, but also starting to get tearful, saying the goodbyes to people who cant make it to our do.

If all goes to plan, we hope to be on the Gold Coast around Xmas time but the way the housing market is going at the moment, it seems highly unlikely
