Hiya, can someone new join in??????

We are hoping to leave the UK at the end of August and are heading to Perth, probably NOR. We will be staying with a friend (if he'll have us!!) for a couple of weeks whilst we look at schools and rentals over there, then we'll be "going it alone" so to speak....
Just been reading some threads from people who haven't settled and are going/gone home.....spooking me a little but if we don't give it a go we will regret it! Would love to join in this thread and count us in for any meet ups when were all there too.....you just can't have too little of a social life when you're the other side of the world all alone can you??

Hi Phillip

We found that our UK credit reference were'nt applicable in Oz and were'nt eligible for finance on a new car so had to pay cash. Our UK no claims bonus was accepted though.

Also a good idea to take character references with you and/or work references for when you come to rent your house.

Best of luck!

Phillip,

have a look on the "Emi-great" website. They specialise in rentals in the Mandurah/Rockingham area and I think they cover Secret Harbour as well:

Hi Gina

Yep good site already a member, we tried to book with them when we were over for 2 weeks in april but they only rent out for 3 weeks or more but houses are great and they are very helpful. They have four houses and are around the $700 per week.

thanks phillip

Not sure if I have mentioned this already but try http://www.mymandurah.com and go to "Accomodation" might help a little.

Sarah.

With regards to doctors charging to provide copies of medical notes the following will apply;

Fees to access and copy health records

Under the Data Protection Act 1998 (Fees and Miscellaneous Provisions)
Regulations 2001, a patient could be charged to view their health records or to be provided with a copy of them.

To provide copies of patient health records the maximum costs are:-
Health records held totally on computer: up to a maximum £10 charge.
Health records held in part on computer and in part manually: up to a
maximum £50 charge.
Health records held totally manually: up to a maximum £50 charge.

All these maximum charges include postage and packaging costs.
Remember these are the maximum costs and any charges for access
requests should not be seen to make a financial gain.

Hope this helps,

Denis.
