Hi Folks

I'm new to this site (be gentle!) We are off to Tassie soon I hope just had meds now waiting for Visas. My other half is a Diesel Fitter (fixes diggers dumpers that sort of thing) Have done a subclass 136 visa application its a long old process but got there in the end. We also got State Nomination as a result of keeping intouch with the woman on the Tassie stand at the London Expo. She put us intouch with a gem of a solicitor in Hobart who has sorted everything out for us, couldn't have done it without him.
everyone keep your fingers crossed for us!

Kerry

good luck with everything!

We are choosing Tassie main reason wife's mum lives there but also its really nice and not rushed. Lots of outdoor activity's for you to do. Also house prices are lower we are new to the housing ladder.
Might even look at buying a peice of land and building a house then we can have what we want!!!
Good luck with your move and to all the other people looking at going to Tassie. Who knows maybe we could have a big meet over there when we are all over!!!

Hi Gary/Vikki

We visited last year, hired a car and did most of the island, we abs loved Hobart its got sooooo much character and is quite cosmopolitan considering its at the bottom of the world! I think the only thing I'd miss apart from friends and family of course is the shopping! Here in MK we are spoilt for choice, I kinda got the feeling they are a million light yrs behind us in the shopping dept. I also noticed that the rest of the island seems to be stuck in the 70's and 80's with regards to decor and interior design. Most places we stayed in were like stepping back in the past.

We are thinking of Tas, but have found it hard to get anyone's real opinions on the place, OH has been offered a job in Devonport.

Are meds were sent off the end of Feb 07, hope to hear soon.

When does anyone else hope to be moving over there?

We came back from Tas, two months ago visiting my Father near Port Arthur. It is a great place to bring up kids. Yes creepy crawlys still everywhere, mainly Huntsman spiders around my fathers house. Would loved to of explored the area more especially Wineglass Bay. My only reason for not moving there would have to be the weather, it was very changable, much like the UK, but slightly warmer.
A fantastic place.......

We used Gold Coast Arrivals. They are brilliant. Very nice people. They do all the work for you and are very cheap. I can Pm with details later if you like?
