Thus:

[...]

Our mission is to document and make available to Fourth World governments, researchers and organizations, important documents relating to the social, political, strategic, economic, cultural and human rights situations being faced by Fourth World nations and create a historical archive of the political struggles waged by indigenous peoples seek to achieve the full expression of self-determination.
Here.
Well thats odd, as all the essays I wrote last year for the Indigenous course I did at uni required that we used capital 'I' - beginning of a sentence (obviously), mid sentence, end of sentence and as a name (again obviously). Perhaps my lecturer needs to go back school himself.

It would appear that your lecturer is wrong, and Vash is indeed correct. According to the Australian Government Writing Style Manual for authors, editors and printers, Sixth edition, (ISBN 0-7016- 3648- 3), there is no requirment to capitalise the word indigenous, unless the context was referring to a shortened form of a government department, for instance:

In suggesting that something may be the responsibility of The Department of Indigenous Affairs - "This looks like a job for Indigenous Affairs!"

Ultimately, it makes sense, as the elements in the periodic table are not capitalised in use eg silicon, despite being the name of that paticular element - eg "The wafer was deep etched in silicon." or "Jordan contains more silicon than a UNIX server cluster" or similar." (though this is a bad example, as that is silicone, not silicon)

A sound and well thought out response! I especially liked the extremely sensitive delivery. It's funny how somtimes the answer to life's little problems are just on the tip of your nose! I'll bet the OP simply hadn't thought of the leaving option. And you never know, now he knows that YOU like it here he may just change his mind.

Given the sound and well thought out original post, it seemed the perfect answer.

Why thank you Mr Deer Hunter, like many others on this post before me, i started to compile a well-thought out and heartfelt response... i then realised that what i was really trying to say was 'get f^&%ed!'

Now I realise there have been many, many posts since this thread started and indeed in the context of the current state of the post, my reply doesn't really make sense, but I only just joined in and like everyone else, simply couldn't resist adding in my two penn'orth.

I absolutely see beyond the end of my nose and am capable of being extremely sensitive, but from the inflammatory nature of the original thread i kinda figured that the OP is some-one who needs to be hit over the head with a sledghammer in order to see the benefits of either an idea or a place

as for my humble opinion, i think it counts - just like everyone else on this opinion-based website... and just for the record, i live in Adelaide but LOVE Brisbane - i have yet to find a place in Oz that i don't prefer to the UK (and I love it there too). Different strokes for different folks and all that.

This is fun, what else shall we talk about?!
