You're welcome...I was trying to give constructive advice and got bombarded!...I am British and have lived in US and Have a home in South West Florida....Go to Naples / Bonita springs and I promise you will want to live there ...beautiful beaches, warm sea, cheapish homes, fantastic shopping, restaurants, no crime, 9 hours from uk, etc

My grandparents lived in Naples, I thought it was pretty awful. But that's my opinion, not a fact.

I agree fort myers isn't great....shame you didn't go a few miles south and over to Sanibel & Captiva islands...depends what you like doing...I like golf, fishing, jet skiing, motorbikes ..outdoor stuff...also great shops, cinema, excellent theatre and Arts in Naples, Miami only 1.5 hours away for if you want a party night...

how anyone can defend the UK weather is astounding....please 'whether' facts have been exaggerated or not the bottom line is the UK weather is appalling and everyone knows it....Lets see if Wimbledon is rained off again this 'summer' or a cricket Test match is cancelled...come on be honest .....re penis size: average....yes I do have a Porsche and its for sale...2 owners, low mileage etc....I don't consider myself rich (net work well over $1m) ...that's why I mentioned it...in fact it worries me that $1m as a pension would only give you an income of $50k...scary...

No point asking if I visited all the shops and beaches as that's exactly what I disliked about it, there didn't seem to be anything else to it!

Mucho aggression on here...why is everyone so unhappy....I was responding to the lady's question (however stupid as no on can advise her on what to do)....1) Florida my choice based on her budget ...gulf coast is best in my opinion though depends on her age as to where - naples, fort myers, tampa etc) 2) California ( I lived there) is expensive if you want a nice home in a decent district ...as she has to buy a business as well to gain entry (Visa) she in my opinon, would need at least $1m ....and that's not enough to gwt a decent home and a decent business in Cal.....3) the UK - weather is shocking
These are my opinions based on my research / experience...if you don't agree that's ok with me but no need to get so up tight ....

We visited Naples, it was full of old people, and was also ridiculously boring.

I'm really trying to understand what quotation marks imply in your posts, so just to help me could you please explain to me the different meaning in your post above, between retire and 'retire'?
